As you know, I have been working on the Firefly project on-and-off for more then the past five or six years. The prototype drawings are complete for both the airframe and the scale retracts. The ship is all framed up and some of the mechanicals are done. Such as scale hinges etc. I am currently working on the flap drive mechanism .. Most of the retract parts are machined and await fitting to the framed out wing with a completed retract unit. Once the prototype has been completed and flown, plans and parts will become available. For the latest pictures..... Check out the Firefly Construction page. As you all know by now I have been called to duty to jump into the WWI arena..... So I developed a sport-scale subject of a 1/3 scale SE5..... Yes, a WWI aeroplane. But it's still British..... The framed up model was on display at the WRAM show in February of 2014.... The finished model was on display at the 2014 Rhinebeck WWI Jamboree where it won "The Spirit of Rhinebeck" award. The finished model was on display at the 2016 WRAM show and has now been flown at various Dawn patrol events. Check out the SE5 page for photos... (see SE5 page) So... my newest project, the Fairy Firefly, has now been moving on and off the building table. But the Firefly moves at a slow rate as I resurect an old Hurricane for the Warbird fun fly circuit. Take heart Firefly fans. It is progressing..... But... WWI fans will note that a new 1/3 scale WWI design is nearly complete. All covered and painted. Waiting for a chance to to the final balance and test flght Will post pictures soon. More news as it gets closer.... Don't worry, it's still British....
